We are dedicated to nurturing and developing the mind, body and spirit of every student within our inclusive Catholic learning community.The Board has schools throughout the City of Greater Sudbury, and the communities of Killarney and Markstay. The Sudbury Catholic District School Board is looking to add to our list of occasional school secretaries to work on an as needed basis, at schools of your choice.The School Secretary provides a welcoming atmosphere as the first point of contact. They are also responsible for providing general information and assistance to staff, parents, and the public in a professional and courteous manner, and provide administrative support to the Principal and Vice Principals.ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONSOne year Community college certificate/diploma in a related fieldProficiency in computer applications including word processing and spreadsheet software, email, InternetSix months of recent related experienceService orientedMotivated and able to work under minimal supervisionExcellent discretion and ability to maintain confidentialityAbility to safely and securely maintain the privacy of records and informationStrong organizational and time management skillsStrong interpersonal skillsExcellent English communication skills (oral and written)Ability to provide accuracy and attention to detailAbility to prioritize and to multi-taskAbility to effectively communicate and relate to people tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times is essentialManual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripheralsFrequently required to sit; occasionally walk and stand; twist at neck and waistPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSWorking knowledge of Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA) and Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA)Previous experience using Maplewood and Cash.NetWorking knowledge of legislative requirements related to the Ontario Student Record (OSR)Ability to read and speak French is an assetThe annual work schedule typically follows the school year calendar and may includeadditional days worked at the beginning of July and the end of August.
