YORK CATHOLIC DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARDInvites applications for the position of:SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGISTOSSTF - PSSP 6 - $43.50 to $61.75 hourly rate(1) Temporary Position – 28 hpwEffective August 29, 2022 to December 31, 2022Position Summary:Under the direction of the Supervisor – Speech language Services, Speech Language Pathologists provide assessment, consultation and therapeutic programs for students with communications needs to support students in accessing the curriculum and be successful academically.Major Responsibilities:Conduct assessment/screening, identify specific language needs and subsequently provide recommendations.Consult to school teams and assist in developing students’ communication and literacy skills.Provide school and families with materials, references or resources.When required, complete referrals to CCAC or pertinent community agency.Liaise with partner agencies in order to ensure that students are communicatively successful in as many environments as possible (school, home and community).Support educators involved with students with in the formulation of communication goals that will enable students to access the academic curriculum to maximize student success.Attend case conferences and IPRCs as required.Qualifications and Experience:Member in good standing with the College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists of Ontario.Four years of experience working with children in a clinic or school environment.Skills and Competencies:Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Strong organizational skills.Ability to travel by car within York Region.Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.Interested applicants may apply until the close of business on June 22, 2022 .Thank you for your application.We appreciate your interest in the York Catholic District School Board, however, only applicants selected to continue to the interview process will be contacted by Human Resources.Commitment to EquityYCDSB is an equal opportunity employer committed to providing an environment of diversity and employment equity and is dedicated to creating a workplace culture of inclusiveness that reflects the diverse communities that we serve.We are proud to have built a culture that thrives on idea-sharing and collaboration, always finding ways to continue to create a warm, welcoming and inclusive work environment.
