YORK CATHOLIC DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARDInvites applications for the position of:Programmer Analyst (Student Services)Exempt Level 6 – (Salary $69,834 – $88,679)Position Summary:Under the general direction of the Manager of Software, Database and Web Applications, the Programmer Analyst (Student Services) is responsible for analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation and integration of new and enhanced reports and applications that support the Board’s Information Systems Department.In addition, this position plans and coordinates the development and continuous improvement of the student achievement and well-being data warehouse and associated systems and integrations.Major Responsibilities:Plan, enhance, coordinate and maintain existing software applications and databases to support board initiatives, technology transformations and cloud strategies.Develop, plan, coordinate activities of assigned projects and regularly monitor the overall progress of projects to develop and implement coding, procedures, processes and systems to support the Board’s overall strategic direction, objectives, vision and priorities.Maintain existing reports, and develop new reports, leveraging the Board’s Student Information System and/or the Board’s Data Warehouse, with an emphasis on report optimization.In-depth knowledge of SQL Server Database is required.Analyze, design, coordinate and develop new software systems and applications to support Board initiatives, technology transformations and cloud strategies to meet the Board’s overall strategic direction, objectives, vision and priorities.Provide reliable expert technical advice, analysis and recommendations and build relationships across key customer/stakeholder groups and identify opportunities to further meet their organizational needs; foster relationships with IT peers and Leadership Team.Actively participate and effectively work as part of the IT Team in developing strategy, collaborating with peers and creation and contribution to business cases, feasibility studies and special reports/papers.Investigate, research and evaluate ways to continuously operationally improve the IT software, database and infrastructure systems and integrate into current systems as required.Maintain and document program coding in accordance with software development standards.Qualifications and Experience:Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent.4 – 5 years experience with programming within a SQL Server and Microsoft.NET, Visual Studio, PHP, JavaScript (TypeScript) and Angular environments.In-depth knowledge of SQL Server Database is required.Exposure to Microsoft SSIS, SSAS, SSRS is preferred.Experience with reporting design tools, with an emphasis on Crystal Reports and PowerBI.Experience with Powershell scripting.Experience with JavaScript and TypeScript preferred.Experience with Angular preferred.Experience with PHP preferred.Skills and Competencies:Knowledge of a variety of software, hardware and system applications.Experience in all phases of the software development life cycle, including analysis, design, unit test, system test, deployment and production support.Strong problem solving and analytical thinking, with an emphasis on creativity and innovation.A passion for learning new technologies through independent research and self-directed training.Strong interpersonal, communication and team collaboration skills.Superb organizational and time management skills.Solid project management skills.An ability to contribute to technical discussion and the openness to listen and learn from peers.Interested applicants may apply until the close of business on January 6, 2023.Thank you for taking the time to apply for this position.
