We serve more than 90,000 students in more than 195 Catholic schools in the city of Toronto and represent close to 475 000 catholic school supporters.RESPONSIBILITIESPickup and delivery of mail, furniture, supplies and miscellaneous equipment to and from schools, offices, suppliers, etc.Provide furniture moving services within board sitesLoad and unload assigned vehicle in accordance with delivery routeMust be prepared to work overtime on short noticeMaintain a clear driving record, adhere to all requirements of the Highway Traffic Act.Adhere to TCDSB Board Vehicle Policy and Operating ProceduresMaintain vehicles in clean and safe condition and report all mechanical defects to supervisorMaintain working areas within warehouse in a clean and safe condition.Any other related duties as assigned or requiredQUALIFICATIONSA thorough knowledge of the streets of Metropolitan TorontoA thorough knowledge of written and verbal EnglishGood health and a satisfactory record of attendance and punctualityGood physical and manual dexterity. Must be able to lift heavy equipment such as floor polishers, computers, multi-piece shipments, etc. (frequent heavy lifting is required throughout the day)Must be cooperative and able to work with a minimum amount of supervisionMinimum 2 years recent commercial driving experience.Ability to receive and give written and verbal instruction in EnglishEDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONSHigh School Diploma, or equivalent (candidates must submit proof of Grade 12 or equivalent)Must have valid Ontario Driver’s “DZ†license (vehicle with air brake system) (candidates must submit their driver’s license) and have access to a reliable automobile. If candidates are selected for an interview, they must submit proof of good driving record before the interview.
