Job Description

DescriptionParkland County has a temporary, full-time position available in the Chief Financial Office for a Manager, Financial Reporting & Operations working to approximately October 2023. Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, the Manager, Financial Reporting & Operations is responsible for the timely and accurate financial reporting including year-end and audit as well as overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable and inventory. The Manager, Financial Reporting & Operations will oversee and provide leadership to direct reporting staff and will interact regularly with a wide range of departments in order to provide information and reports and assist them with monitoring their financial reports in relation to their budgets.QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary education in Commerce/Finance is required, such as Bachelor of Commerce degree of Accounting Diploma from a recognized institute.
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in a progressively senior level related position including supervision of staff.
  • Experience in the areas of Public Sector Accounting Standards, the Municipal Government Act, financial reporting and forecasting processes and techniques is required.
  • Experience in a leadership position with publicly traded companies and/or a public accounting firm is considered an asset.
  • A Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) designation is required.
  • High level of interpersonal skill and diplomacy to interact with a variety of senior internal and external personnel is required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills along with the ability to express and explain financial terms and processes to non-financial clients. The ability to understand client’s needs and develop solutions specifically as it relates to the financial systems, exceptional time management skills, attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy is required.
  • Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office (expert knowledge of Excel is required) and the ability to quickly adapt to new financial software is required.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with current satisfactory driver’s abstract.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Rate of Pay: $105,240 - $131,550 per annumHours of Work: 7 hours/day; 35 hours/weekBenefits Extensive benefits are offered including an option to join our Earned Day Off Program.Quick Apply
