Job Description

DescriptionParkland County has an opportunity for a temporary, full-time Planning & Development Coordinator position working approximately May 2023 to December 2024. Reporting to the Director, Planning & Development Services, the Planning & Development Coordinator works in a confidential capacity providing support and administrative services to the Director, Managers, and the department. This position acts as a liaison for Planning & Development Services to various other departments and staff within the County and provides supervision and guidance to the Planning File Clerk and Temporary Clerk positions. The Planning & Development Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and maintenance of department projects and must possess strong organization and time management skills.The ideal candidate for this position will have the following:

  • High school Diploma supplemented by post-secondary in Administration, Office Management or equivalent. Project Management certification would be considered an asset.
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ relevant experience.
  • Strong computer and web management skills are required.
  • Strong customer service, interpersonal, organization and time management skills are required.
  • Strategic planning, basic budgeting and accounting skills are required. Previous leadership experience would be preferred.
  • Possession of a valid Alberta driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
The total rewards package for this position includes:A starting annual salary of $60,596 - $75,745 based on a 35-hour work week and option to join the Earned Day Off Program.In addition, extended health and dental benefits, access to our confidential Employee and Family Assistance Program, paid sick time, three (3) weeks vacation a year with your birthday off, flexible work arrangements allowing remote work options (based on position’s needs), and personal days.
