The “Natural Place to live, work, play and invest”, the City of Pitt Meadows is a picturesque community of just over 18,000 residents, boasting a small town atmosphere with all the urban amenities, beautiful outdoor environment and a great quality of life, located just one hour east of downtown Vancouver.Child and Youth Workers(Auxiliary as scheduled)We are recruiting Recreation Workers to perform work in support of a variety of recreation programs in our community with special interest and experience with children and youth. This position will be required to work a variety of roles in our Child and Youth programs, such as Summer Camps, Youth Lounge, Birthday Parties, and Sports related programming. These programs operate at various times throughout the week from Sunday through Saturday, from 8:00am-9:30pm. The successful applicants will have knowledge of the fundamentals of program leadership and experience in instruction of a wide variety of programs for all ages, including children and youth. Individuals will facilitate and/or support drop-in & sports programs, camps, afterschool programs, wellness and physical literacy, outdoor activities, special events, youth mentorship and/or youth centre programs and volunteer development.The successful candidates will have completed grade 12 supplemented by courses related to the work, plus experience; or an equivalent combination of training experience.
