Direct Entry Apprenticeship in Mechanical InsulationJob Title: Mechanical Insulation Apprenticeship Possible Locations: Vancouver Lower Mainland, Kelowna, Prince George, Vancouver IslandInsulation work is physical and requires well-trained and highly skilled technicians.There is an exciting opportunity to join a Skilled Trades BC recognized Red Seal Construction Trade with a union apprenticeship sponsor. If this is the right fit, you could be a Red Seal Ticketed Journeyperson in as little as four years, without needing to take out any student loans.Mechanical Insulation is part of the mechanical building trades. All buildings need mechanical systems such as pipes and ducts to move air and water throughout the building. When this air or water is chilled or heated, energy conservation specialists, known as Mechanical Insulators, come in to apply insulation and firestopping systems according to specifications. Not only does this specialized work prevent condensation and therefore mildew from destroying the building from within, but it also helps ensure fire-safety and prevents energy loss.Only apply if you are legally entitled to work full time in Canada and will be able to attend about one month of technical/classroom training in Port Coquitlam out of each year for four years to complete a four year program.Like all construction tradespeople, Insulators are required to travel to various jobsites; Therefore, access to a reliable vehicle is an asset.
