We continue to be 100% owned by Atlantic Canadians and our goal is to maintain a strong and locally owned poultry industry.SUMMARYThe Egg Processor is responsible for transferring un-graded eggs from carts/pallets to the loader unit, packing eggs into boxes, loading and unloading eggs and packaging supplies. They are also responsible for work area clean up. The hours of work per week and the days will vary as required.SCHEDULEThe work schedule for this position is Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm with a one hour unpaid lunch and 2 15 minute breaks.MAJOR DUTIES· Ensure that boxes are labeled correctly and cartons are coded with proper dates.· Print invoices for egg orders. Print route summary sheets.· Verifying quantities of product shipped.· Receiving shipments and matching of purchase orders.· Transferring un-graded eggs from carts or pallets to the loader unit· Recording of wash water temperature and ph balance cleaning buffers· Pack eggs on carts or into boxes egg grade checks· Loading and unloading of eggs and packing supplies· Cleaning and sweeping of buildings as required· Building pallets for shipping to the breaker plant· Weighing, listing and labelling of pallets when completedOther duties as assigned that are relevant to the Egg DivisionPOSITION REQUIREMENTS· Grade 12 or equivalent preferred.· Strong commitment to health & safety.· Ability to lift up to 14kgs (30lbs) for extended periods.· Ability to work in a fast paced environment with multiple demands.· Experience in the agricultural industry preferable.· Ability to work in a team environment.· Pleasant, outgoing personality, with a friendly positive approach to customer service.WORKING CONDITIONSThe position operates indoors in a production environment. Work environment may be cold in the coolers and warm and humid in other sections of the production plant.
