APPLICATION PROGRAMMER (Permanent, Full-time)NATURE OF THE POSITION: Hiring two (2) Application Programmer (Permanent, Full-time) positions. Under the general supervision of the Manager of Information Technology or designate, the Application Programmer will be a key player in designing, implementing and maintaining systems for the Regional District. Responsibilities will include evaluating and preparing recommendations regarding the development, acquisition and implementation of applications; assessing and advising on system capabilities, defining and developing applications to meet user needs and ensuring that standards and procedures are adopted and followed. The Application Programmer will also provide technical support to users including developing and conducting training, demonstrating software capabilities and resolving user problems.The Application Programmer has considerable contact with regulators, contractors, consultants and the public. This is a technical role requiring considerable knowledge of best practices and operations.RATE OF PAY: $40.95 per hour (January 1, 2024 rate)DUTIES AND QUALIFICATIONS: As set out in the job description.BENEFITS: In accordance with the Collective Agreement with C.U.P.E Local 1699.
