To ensure a quality product iSPAN sets a high standard for BIM software and on site considerations.JOB SUMMARYThe Structural Steel Detailer is assigned building projects, requiring but not limited to structural steel embedded plates, columns, beams, brace frames, balcony support columns, or any combination thereof and creating fabrication & erection drawings. This includes using Autodesk Advance Steel in combination with the iSPAN framing software (Revit) to create drawings for review and approval, through coordinating and creating requests for information and managing the model through to production of fabrication drawings. The Structural Steel Detailer will also be responsible for correspondence and information gathering as well as preliminary building design and layout drawings. Additional duties of completing complex designs and detailing larger projects can be achieved as knowledge and experience are gained.DUTIES & RESPONSABILITIES

• Using software such as Advance Steel, Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office
• Reviewing and checking architectural, structural & mechanical drawings
• Following standards and procedures to create iSPAN shop drawings
• Creation of machine files for production
• Coordination of project information to acquire any missing information while maintaining project deadlines
• Organization and project information management
• Complete preliminary design using iSPAN standards according to experience and abilities

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in CAD based software or Autodesk Advance Steel
• Diploma in Engineering Technology or a combination of education and experience
• Working knowledge of steel framing and fabrication
• Ability to read and understand architectural, structural, and mechanical drawings
• Self-driven, positive attitude and desire to excel
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong trouble shooting, problem solving and organizational skills
• Proficient in written and spoken English
• Hands on experience is an asset
