Job Description

The Care Group (“TCG”) offers high quality residential care services to complex care clients in 8 homes throughout the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island.At The Care Group we believe our residents deserve excellence in care and we strive to achieve this by working as a team towards our common goal - a happy and healthy resident.THE OPPORTUNITYWe are looking for Temporary Cook to join our The Gardens team in Qualicum Beach, B.C to cover a Maternity Leave.What is in for you Beyond the perks that come with working for the area #39;s leading community healthcare provider we offer competitive wages, benefits, and skill development.Shifts: 10:30 am to 6:30 pm 5 on 2 offResponsibilities:

  • Work with the Dietitian to prepare appropriate menus for the residents
  • Lead the kitchen in preparing the main meals
  • Order all food and supplies for the kitchen
  • Monitor food cost and maintain budget
  • Ensure safety and sanitation practices in the kitchen
  • Request feedback from the residents about food preferences and menu development
  • Prepare specialized and textured diets
Qualifications:
  • experience working in a hotel/banquet/fine dining preferred
  • experience in preparing specialized and textured diets preferred
  • experience as a Food Nutrition and Support Manager preferred
  • Red Seal or equivalent
  • Proof of COVID vaccination
