Hello! I am a full time paramedic moving to Qualicum with my elderly Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. I will be starting at the Bowser station December 2nd. We work 2 day shifts followed by 2 night shifts then we have 4 days off and the rotation starts all over again, so the pattern is a bit irregular. Clarence is used to having me home with him over the last 2 years as I have been off with an injury but am now ready to work again. His exercise requirements are minimal as he has a heart condition for which he takes medication twice a day. He can walk about a km a day comfortably. He mostly needs to be let out to pee/poo and to have some company a few times a day during the long day shifts. During night shifts, he would just need someone to look in on him early evening for meds and then he would likely sleep until I return home in the early morning. Occasionally if we get a call towards the end of our shift, we have to go overtime. I am also open to having him picked up and taken to daycare (my shifts start at 6am and at 6pm) so I am open to whatever can fit his needs as pick up and drop off time can never be guaranteed by my line of work. This is a very generalized list of needs as I #39;m not sure what can be worked out to suit everyone best.
