Job Description

Overview / Responsibilities:Wood is currently recruiting for an Electrical & Instrumentation Coordinator to join our Mining & Minerals construction site near Rocanville, SK.Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring electrical construction is installed (including ground grid, cabling, structures, conductors, major equipment)
  • Ensuring that protection and control equipment is installed and tested
  • Acting as the liaison between home office, the owner, and contractors
  • Assisting with scope of work portion of contracts
  • Assisting with bid evaluation
  • Assisting with construction scheduling including identifying outages as required
  • Providing input into the execution of overall construction plan
  • Conducting constructibility review of drawings prior to construction
  • Coordinating all field functions including scheduling of any required outages
  • Ensuring that all material arriving at site meets the engineer’s specifications and quantities
  • Managing design change notices
  • Ensuring all constructed portions of the project electrical, instrumentation, and control red lines are in hand from the contractor and back drafted
  • Assisting the client/owner with any other specific project assignments from time to time as directed
Skills / Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of field experience preferably in the mining sector and in an electrical/instrumentation capacity
  • Experience overseeing aspects of electrical work in field construction on large projects in a brownfield environment including direction of construction specifications, budgets, and schedules
  • Relevant degree or technical diploma or an equivalent combination of training and working experience
  • Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required
