Job Description

DescriptionHCC is a progressive and professional partner to Saskatchewan mining. We have been committed to safe and successful execution of underground contracts within the potash industry for twenty years. We value diversity and respect in the workplace.We are currently sourcing qualified Safety Coordinators to work at various mine sites across Saskatchewan.Safety CoordinatorWe are looking for qualified people who have significant underground experience in the potash industry, have demonstrated attention to safety, and have competently provided safety oversight for the following activities:

  • operation of scoop trams, continuous miners and other cutting equipment, bolting machines and equipment, and various auxiliary equipment such as telehandlers and skid steers
  • installation of conveyance systems and other underground infrastructure
  • construction of underground storage bins and other structural projects
  • shotcreting, backfilling and installing concrete foundation
  • shaft construction and remediation
In addition to the experience noted above, an ideal candidate will possess:
  • a minimum of 5 years working in underground mining
  • current certification in Saskatchewan General Mine Safety Awareness and WHMIS 2015
  • current certification in Leadership for Safety Excellence and First Aid/CPR
  • current certification as a NCSO and/or CRSP
  • a commitment to working safely and providing effective leadership in a team environment
  • positive attitude and excellent work ethic
  • the ability to work away from home on a work rotation defined by the project
  • the ability to work dayshift or nightshift
  • a valid driver’s license
