Ensure safety and quality are part of every task performed by the site or vendorsPrepare plant budgets, forecasts, availability, production reports as requiredPrepare all necessary documents, maintenance procedures, operating procedures, commissioning procedures and manuals required for operational readinessOrganize coordination activities with OEM, Contractor and Project resources during construction completion, commissioning, and start-up of the new (72MW) self-generation facility at Rocanville mine siteInterface with local Power, Gas, Government authorities and others as requiredPrepare research and development initiatives for the implementation of capital improvements that generate a rate of return to the self-generation plant in accordance with company policyPerform maintenance planning, asset integrity, and gas turbine O & M specialized expertise and leadershipBe the main contact for the site regarding operation, maintenance, and administration of contract servicesSupervise and contractually administer vendor work as necessary in concert with Rocanville’s site operationsPerform coordination with the site for training, shutdown planning, and general maintenance activitiesComplete other tasks as requested by Major Projects General Foreperson or various other Rocanville site management as requiredRecommend the necessary vendors for the purchase of parts, services, consumables, and chemicals as necessary for the safe and efficient operation of the facilitiesInitiate the necessary purchase requisition forms in accordance with budgetsExplore and develop Cogeneration opportunities in keeping with Nutrien’s Sustainability commitmentsWhat you will bring:A Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering8+ years, heavy industrial manufacturing experienceStrong Safety CommitmentBasic technical knowledge related to large engines and power generation is preferredBasic knowledge of maintenance practices in a heavy industrial environment is preferredAn equivalent combination of education and experience will also be consideredCo-generation experience would be an assetPower generation and high voltage electrical distribution knowledge are highly desirablePrevious supervisory experience would be desirablePrevious plant commissioning and start-up experience would be desirableExperience navigating through and communicating with regulatory bodies (Electrical Inspection Branch, SPC, MOE, etc) would be an assetStrong Leadership and organization skillsAbility to work with othersConflict resolution skills and negotiation skillsAre you a good match Apply today!Nutrien is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to creating an inclusive workplace.
