Job Description

Overview / Responsibilities:Wood has an opportunity available for a Site Quality / Mechanical Coordinator to support our construction team on our Project site near Rocanville, SK.Responsibilities:Research and monitor controls: specifications, codes, and standards for the work.Visual inspection of welding installations.Daily field inspection and associated reports.Monitor compliance of consumable material supply and storage.Monitor equipment and materials to ensure suitability and compliance to requirements.Support technical expertise, specifically welding and NDT.Witness field test, write quality surveillance report (QSR), and follow up to ensure compliance with ITPs.Support monitor worker qualifications to ensure compliance.Conduct field impromptu quality audits on construction activities as detailed in the Project Quality Plan:NCR (Non-Conformance Report)CAR (Corrective Action Report)PAR (Preventive Action Report)Input / feedback / recommendations on practical aspects of quality plans and procedures.Input into final check-offs and acceptance requirements for turnover purposes.Research and identification of specifications, procedures, vendor and contractual information, site contractor, construction quality requirements (CCQR).Regular communication / work collaboratively with construction team.Support construction partners QC representatives in the witness / inspection / testing of systems and equipment.Regular communication / work collaboratively with Owner’s Project TeamSupport Contract Administrators and Construction Manager through recommendations on issues and concerns regarding performance of contracted work.Care, custody and control of QA documentation to verify quality construction activities and installations.Provide support, “As built” drawing review and turnover for mechanical completion.Steward receipt and storage of materials and equipment as well as preservation and maintenance of same.Conduct quality assurance of Contractor and Sub-Contractor work including, but not limited to:Reviewing and approving quality related submittals.Monitoring the live Master Punch List per contractor.Following up on corrective action and non-conformances.Monitoring ITP progression.Monitoring turnover documentation population and progression.Monitoring weekly red-line submittals.Monitoring construction installation activities.Performing, recording and reporting Audits.Support the Construction Management Team (CMT) through recommendations on issues and/or concerns regarding construction execution performance of contracted work.Skills / Qualifications:Minimum 10 years of experience in a QA Specialist or equivalent roleMust have experience in heavy industrial construction environments.Previous working experience with ISO 9001 and AS 9100 documentation requirements.Previous experience with test and certification data as well as material and product testing.Capable of reading and interpreting customer supplied and internal drawings generated by Engineering.Excellent interpersonal skills and able to communicate to all levels of employees, as well as customers and suppliers.Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Graphing, Access)Ability to work within a team environment and on individual projectsAuthorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is requiredCompany Overview:Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world’s most critical challenges.
