Our clients consist of regulatory agencies, provincial institutions, and private entities to whom we ensure that their individual protocols and management be followed and executed properly without bias.Summer Research AssociateContract Duration: 4 - 6 monthsLocation: Brunkild, ManitobaPosition Description: Assist in general day-to-day operations of Taproot Research Ltd. This includes field activities involved throughout the growing season for carrying out research crop trials, starting from field preparation through to harvest including, but not limited to:- Plot seeding- Plot maintenance (rototilling, spraying, weeding)- Plot harvest and sampling- Crop staging- Weed identification and management- Disease identification- Agronomic and qualitative trial assessments- Equipment operation including tractors and plot combine- Grass mowing / weed whacking- Yard site / office upkeep and maintenance- Responsible for supplies and parts inventory- Data entryQualifications: - Enrolled/recently completed an agriculture or related degree program- Possession of a valid Class 5 driver’s license- A general understanding of crop production- Ability to work independently and outdoors- Good communication and interpersonal skills- Be able or willing to operate farm machinery- Attention to detailCompensation: - Hourly compensation dependent upon on experience and education background- Flexible work hours dependent upon in-season activities and demandsJob Types: Fixed term contract, Internship / Co-op, SeasonalContract length: 4 monthsSalary: $18.00-$22.00 per hourBenefits:
