Job Description

ACCOUNTS PAYABLE/ ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE ADMINISTRATORKent Line Ltd is a well established Canadian based shipping company that provides customers with Marine Transportation Service solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of their clients. We offer agency services in Atlantic Canada , with our head office in Saint John. Kent Line has been a proud member of the Irving Group of Companies for more than 65 years.We are currently looking for talented applicants for the position of Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Administrator to join our team in Saint John. The successful applicant must have the ability to work collaboratively in a team, as well as independently in a diverse environment. Kent Line values candidates who possess a high degree of integrity and a desire to learn and grow with the company.Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare and update reports and tracking documents.
  • Prepare timely and accurate Invoices, owners’ billings, and other documents.
  • Reconcile records of bank transactions applying debits and credits to accounts.
  • Monitor status of accounts to ensure payments and remittances are performed timely.
  • Reconcile or note and record discrepancies found on records.
  • Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records.
  • Liaise with suppliers and clients for all accounting questions.
  • Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.
  • Access computerized financial information to answer general questions as well as those related to specific accounts.
  • Actively participate in the continuous improvement process providing insight of events that might affect revenue.
  • Preparation and consolidation of period revenue to be submitted for the monthly results.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an Accounting or Accounts Payable/ Receivable role.
  • Experience within the Transportation Industry is considered an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast paced, dynamic working environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills & ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent Communication skills (Both verbal & written)
  • Proficiency in Excel, Basware and JD Edwards.
