  • Providing administrative services in the areas of information dissemination, travel, procurement and service contract, inventory management and records management.
  • Maintaining the accuracy, integrity and quality assurance of the National Aids to Navigation Database (SIPA) by collecting, verifying, and inputting data from source documents, service reports, and service delivery partners.
  • Working collaboratively with service providers including CCG Regional Operations Center/Fleet, Integrated Technical Services, and contractors to report and track outages, repairs and changes to the aids to navigation.
  • Compiling and maintaining briefing stats, buoy work programs, daily discrepancy reports and disseminating the information to management, fleet, contractors, technical services staff and external clients.
  • Providing financial support including budget forecasting, expenditure, and commitment tracking.
Work environmentThe Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) ensures safe travel by water and safe navigation for ships along Canada’s rugged coastlines and protects Canada’s marine environment.The CCG - Aids to Navigation program involves the provision of marine aids numbering over 17,000 that facilitate safe and expeditious movement of maritime traffic. These marine aids include visual and aural aids (such as fixed aids, lighthouses, buoys, and fog horns), radar aids (such as reflectors and beacons), electronic aids (such as the Differential Global Positioning System), and navigation safety information.
