Reporting to the Senior Manager, National Donation Processing, or their designate, the incumbent is responsible for the reconciliation and analysis of the Branch Administer Module Systems (BAM) for the Society. The incumbent will act as a trainer and liaison with the branches for any new hires and inquires.You will enjoy:Culture: an organization that is guided by our fundamental principles of humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity and universality.Flexibility: alternative work arrangements and paid time off for those “life happens moments”.Employee Benefits: you will be eligible to participate in the term benefits plan with the Canadian Red Cross, along with a competitive vacation entitlement.Meaningful Work: the opportunity to make a difference through meaningful work at one of Canada’s largest non-profit organizations.Opportunity: to work with the best and brightest in the non-profit field, in an environment that promotes continuous learning, creativity and collaboration.In this role, you will:Retrieve the daily download from BAM Accpac Export and BAM Raisers Edge ExportPrepare any accounting backup sent by Branches through mail or electronic mail.Reconcile the download to amounts deposited in the Society’s bank accounts.Investigate, identify, and research any miscoded items for all transactions, prepares any correcting journal entries.Store reconciled files on appropriate directory for import into accounting and Philanthropy SystemsFlag items or accounts requiring the Manager’s attention.Import relevant transaction data into Accounting SystemCompare imported data to reconciliation data for accurate posting into General Ledger.Prepare and import donation data into Philanthropy System.Perform database and donor analysis ensuring imports/exports are accurate and complete.Analyze and follow up on outstanding records or errors.Analyze and Prepare DRAs/Cash Reports sent in by the branches through mail or electronic mailReconcile to the Society’s bank accounts.Investigate, identify, and research any miscoded items for all transactions, prepare any correcting journal entries.Prepare batches for entry into the Accounting and Philanthropy SystemsFlag items or accounts requiring the Manager’s attention.Respond to queries from internal and external clients, including Philanthropy staff. Clear communication with the WeCare team is a requirement.Follow up with Branches concerning discrepancy between deposit backup and bank statement.Follow up with WeCare on donor inquires.Responsible for training Branch staff as it relates to the BAM processMaintain BAM Training Manual for Branch UtilizationEmployees and Volunteers at every level are responsible for safe work practices and to adhere to practices outlined in their applicable provincial Occupational Health and Safety Act.Support other Red Cross initiatives, as needed, to provide for a coordinate team effort to meeting the needs of the most vulnerable in the community.We are looking for:The minimum qualifications for this job are two years of completed post-secondary education at a recognized institution, with a concentration in accounting or finance, and a minimum of three years of job‑related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Demonstrated computer skills of MS Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.Knowledge of accounting theory, techniques, and policies is required.Professionalism and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively within a team and build positive relationships.Effective training and coaching skillsAttention to detail, as well as strong analytical skills.Superior organization and time management skills.Ability to problem solve and think outside the box.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.A satisfactory Criminal Record Check is required.Current First Aid & CPR certification is required.Experience with AX is preferred.Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are essential and French is considered a definite asset.The Canadian Red Cross is committed to gender equality and social inclusion in our workplace.
