The New Brunswick SPCA is seeking a full-time Animal Protection Officer in the greater Saint John region, NB; coverage will include Saint John, Charlotte and Kings Counties.As an Animal Protection Office (APO), you will play an integral role in supporting the NB SPCA in maintaining a high level of public safety and animal welfare.The APO will respond to client/public inquiries and complaints and handle sensitive and confidential information in a trusted and responsible manner. You will work closely with the Chief Animal Protection Officer, Deputy Chief Animal Protection Officer, and other Animal Protection Officers, as well as policing agencies (municipal and RCMP) to enforce the SPCA Act of NBThe ideal candidate will possess:· Successful completion of Grade Twelve (12) or equivalent.· Completion of enforcement training from a recognised institution is required.· Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in the field of law enforcement or related field.· Demonstrated organizational, investigative, and analytical skills· Strong commitment to the protection and care of animals· Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills· High level of initiative and strong problem-solving skills· Familiarity with PC computer applications, Microsoft Office 365 (Word and Excel) and MS Outlook· Valid NB Class 5 Driver’s license· English, written and verbal, is requiredThe successful candidate must be physically and medically fit, and have clean criminal and driving records checks.The New Brunswick SPCA, for the successful candidate, provides uniforms, all training and equipment as well as a marked vehicle.
