Established in 1993, Y Newcomer Connections is a leading immigrant settlement centre focused on creating connections that will transform our community into a lasting, healthy home for immigrants from around the world and from all walks of life.The Opportunity:The Bridge is a well curated 3-part program that will focus on Language and class content, labour market readiness training, experiential learning, and community engagement for newcomer high school students.The Project Coordinator will be expected to work closely with NBMC and other immigrant settlement agencies (ISAs) staff as required and needed.The Project Coordinator reports directly to the Supervisor of Employment at the YMCA of Greater Saint John but is also accountable to and responsible for submitting financial, and activity reports to the Project Manager for the Project, who sits on the New Brunswick Multicultural Council (based in Fredericton). This position works closely with all Y Newcomer Connections staff to foster and maintain external relationships and build capacity in the community to train and hire newcomers. This position also contributes to the strategic mandate of the YMCA of Greater Saint John, particularly with respect to initiatives around youth support and around Diversity and Social Inclusion (DSI).The nature and scope of this position is such that a close relationship has to be maintained with the Director of Employment Initiatives and the Skills Launch Provincial Program Manager at the New Brunswick Multicultural Council, as well as with other project team members.Responsibilities:
