Our 6,000 faculty and staff foster a vibrant, purpose-driven community, that celebrated 200 years of academic excellence in 2018.Job SummaryDalhousie Medicine New Brunswick (DMNB) is one of the two campuses of Dalhousie Faculty of Medicine. The main administrative office is located on the UNB Campus in Saint John. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Curriculum Coordinator will be responsible for administering and coordinating activities of the Dalhousie Medicine UGME curriculum including program and faculty evaluation, and assessment of student performance.Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior UGME staff to coordinate the development of the preclerkship units. Develop schedules, ensure integration of units and resolve conflicts in Med 1 and Med 2 schedules.
  • Serve as the primary administrative resource person for faculty and students regarding curriculum for core units.
  • Administer on-line curriculum tools. Distribute program evaluation tools. Ensure all curriculum lecture material and administrative curriculum documents are in the schedule and released appropriately.
  • Act as the primary administrative resource person for exam development. Ensure adherence to procedures development by UGME. Develop, draft and revise examinations in consultation with Unit Heads.
  • Produce reports of preliminary examination results for review. Identify successes, issues and offer recommendations from an administrative standpoint.
  • Coordinate, facilitate and supervise student examinations and review sessions.

However, health and safety risks to our community will continue to be monitored and a vaccine mandate may be reinstated if necessary or may be a required in NB.QualificationsBusiness/Office Administrative diploma with approximately five years’ related work experience preferably in a health professional education environment (or equivalent combination of training and experience) is required. Excellent communication and organization skills required with the ability to work in a team environment. Must be able to manage and organize workload, multitask and meet a variety of deadlines. Additionally, must be able to exercise initiative, work independently, and handle sensitive and confidential student issues with considerable tact. Knowledge of medical education programs and/or academic health care environment would be considered an asset. Proficiency with software packages, especially MS Suite (SharePoint, Excel, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) is required. Knowledge of ExamSoft, BrightSpace, One45, Adobe, and DalMedix would be considered a significant asset.Job CompetenciesAdditional InformationDalhousie University supports a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
