Job Description

Distribution SpecialistAtlantic Wallboard is a business venture of the J.D. Irving, Limited group of companies. Located on Bayside Dr. in east Saint John, Atlantic Wallboard is a highly automated, state of the art gypsum manufacturing facility which provides a broad range of gypsum wallboard products for use in the construction industry.We are currently seeking candidates for the fulltime salaried position of Distribution Specialist.Qualifications:

  • Education Required: Minimum requirement of high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Years of relevant experience required: 5+ years
  • Good problem solving, trouble shooting and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Interest in working in a continuous learning environment where LEAN manufacturing practices will be utilized
  • Knowledge of E1 and DSI systems is considered an asset
  • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Teams, and Power Point
  • Leadership experience is considered an asset
  • Must be detail oriented and well organized
Key Responsibilities:
  • Communicate with the customer and troubleshoot issues as they arise
  • Monitor and assist in optimizing truck and rail loading
  • Work with Carriers (Contrans, Sunbury, Martel, and others)
  • Working with high performance work teams
  • Share responsibility for a workforce of 20 Operators
  • Support Warehouse supervisor and act as relief when needed
  • Ability to work in an accident-free manner and help ensure that team members work safely while performing all job duties
