All qualified persons, particularly Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, ethnic minorities, visible minorities, women, veterans, and others who share our values and contribute to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace are encouraged to apply.As a Finance Assistant, you will collaborate with the Supervisor, Financial Shared Services or their designate, to provide administrative, filing, retrieval and mail distribution support to the National Finance office in Saint John, NB.As a Finance Assistant, you will:Retrieves file support for internal and external use including audit using Microsoft Dynamics AX Accounts Payable module, NPC or Receipting filesEnsure that the Account Payable paper invoices are organised, files are reviewed , updated daily and complete all filing for various teams within Finance (A/R, A/P, Receipting).Manage Daily mail and courier distribution for the Saint John office.Note: Under normal circumstances, this responsibility should be completed before other tasks. Other staff require the distributed mail to be able to complete their work.Support various teams within Finance (A/R, A/P, Receipting) like filing documents, preparing customer statements, respond to customer queries and maintain good customer relationsLead Contact for Iron Mountain management, complete transmittal sheets, manage ordering supplies and maintain the storage of filesAdhere to practices outlined in the applicable provincial Occupational Health and Safety Act.Support other Red Cross initiatives, as needed, to provide for a coordinated team effort to meeting the needs of the most vulnerable in the community.What we are looking for:Completion of 2 years of post-secondary education with a concentration in accounting, finance, or a related field, and a minimum of 3 years of job-related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Attention to detail as well as superior organization and time management skills.Demonstrated computer skills of MS Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.Professionalism and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively within a team and build positive relationships.Developed analytical, problem solving, decision making and critical thinking skills.Experience with AX software is considered an asset.Fluency in both official languages would be considered an asset.A satisfactory Criminal Record Check is required and a Current First Aid & CPR certification is required.Working Conditions:The work is performed in an office environment which is mostly clean and comfortable. There is some lifting in this position.
