In 2021, the Group reported a turnover of 1.99 billion euros and sales of 9 million products in about 150 countries around the world.In the Health & Safety Coordinator role, reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) topics, compliance and ensuring legal and Ariston Group standards at our St. John, NB and Sussex, NB locations.You will be responsible for the following activities:

  • Oversee HSE activities to ensure legal compliance. This is an exciting new position and you will have the opportunity to build our HSE programs.
  • Perform job exposure analysis to ensure safe work environments according to HSE standards and legislative requirements.
  • Monitor the effective implementation of appropriate HSE procedures and provide for their updating in line with changes in legislation and Group standards.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee Health & Safety programs.
  • Give support in implementing the site health, safety and environmental management systems according to ISO 45001:2018 & ISO 14001:2015 standards.
  • Ensure effective incident management including incidents investigation, root cause identification, prevention plans setting, follow up and reporting.
  • Ensure daily, weekly, monthly and annual inspections and perform self-assessment and internal audits to comply with local regulations.
  • Maintain relevant HSE logs and documentation.
  • Support in designing safety training programs for employees, ensure response to all specific requirements and maintain knowledge of all company safety programs, draft all materials for training programs, meeting local and global safety objectives.
  • Oversee waste management system, waste reduction monitoring, and ensure regulatory agency compliance, labeling, containments, proper disposal, and documentation.
  • Give support in maintaining good relationship with public institutions (Municipality, Province, Region, Local Healthcare Institution, Regional Environmental Protection Agency, Fire Department), also for inspections, requests for authorizations and/or licenses.
  • Please note we have two locations currently, and there will be some travel required to our Sussex, NB location.
As the ideal candidate a degree in Environmental Engineering (or equivalent) and experience of at least 3-5 years in a similar role ideally at manufacturing companies. Knowledge of provincial HSE legislation is a must.In addition, we are seeking candidates for this role who are:
