Thats why were dedicated to investing in our employees’ potential, so that they can reach their career goals.Job DescriptionWhat you can expect in a typical dayUsing your strong time management and problem-solving skills, you will be responsible for optimizing assets, resource and product utilization within established policies and procedures. You will dispatch and support transportation resources to build efficient and cost-effective loads. This will be done by tracking daily inventory levels, sales trends and executing committed deliveries while meeting customers’ expectations. You will team together with internal and external customers, carriers and Dispatch Managers to meet Key Performance Indicator targets on safety, on-time delivery and retains. With customer satisfaction & service at the forefront, you will manage relationships with customers and drivers as the first point of contact for any transportation needs or inquiries relating to supply, products, assets and service interruptions and escalate as required. This role will be responsible for decisions and recommendations around several assets required for daily demands, seasonal fluctuations in business, weather and supply interruptions, Customer priorities and strategic planning. The responsibility also includes capturing and recording all service interruptions resulting in a run out as well as any discrepancies reconciling the planned vs executed deliveries.What we offer:

Your roles and responsibilities:
  • Utilize technology to effectively gather and respond to requests for information for managers, drivers and customers
  • Take ownership and is accountable until a problem is resolved
  • Effectively apply knowledge and application of distribution policies and procedures
  • Makes difficult and time sensitive decisions to support business objectives and customer needs
  • Build loads for trucks and reviewing driver completions
  • Bring forward any concerns to managers
  • Able to forecast seasonal demands and resources
  • Strong time management and problem-solving skills
  • Perform other duties as required to support the overall team
  • Produces outcomes that demonstrate an understanding of financial impacts

Travel
  • Travel is not a requirement for this position.
Education and experience
  • Post-secondary education and/or equivalent experience in a customer service environment required
  • 3-5 years related experience
  • Previous exposure to the transportation industry would be considered an asset
  • Previous dispatching experience would be considered an asset
  • Must be able to work well in a team environment
  • Problem solving skills and strong analytical skills
  • Strong computer literacy
