If you want to surpass yourself and make a difference in your community, you have come to the right place.OPERATIONS MANAGERSaint John Marine TerminalYour leadership qualities and your expertise in operations management will be put to full use in this leadership role, being responsible for the vessels and terminal operations at our marine terminal located in Saint John.Reporting to the Vice President, you will plan, organize and coordinate terminal and vessels operations (bulk, break-bulk and cruise ships) to ensure operational efficiency. You will lead your team in an engaging way and will act as an ambassador of QSLs values. You will drive the operations to meet operational targets in terms of health and safety, operational excellence, customer satisfaction, leadership and sustainable development.You will also liaise with all stakeholders to ensure operations are running smoothly and efficiently and to meet our commitments to our customers.Main responsibilities: ENSURE A SAFE WORKPLACE

  • Ensure the application of safe work methods and compliance with operating standards
  • Nurture a culture of occupational health and safety prevention
  • Measure the level of OHS compliance, conduct field audits, participate in HSSE investigations and supervise application of corrective action plans
ENSURE OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE AND MEETING OBJECTIVES
  • Plan administrative and operational activities and determine the required resources
  • Work closely with the superintendent, providing daily coordination and support
  • Monitor the smooth running of operations, make the necessary adjustments, measure performance, and ensure the continuous improvement of work processes

ENSURE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
  • Ensure that all operational practices meet the policies, procedures and regulations in force aimed at protecting the environment
  • Monitor compliance of operational practices with environmental standards and conduct field audit
MOBILIZE, SUPPORT AND SUPERVISE TEAMS
  • Guide, develop and mobilize the teams to achieve the objectives set
  • Apply best practices related to workforce management, training, and work schedules
  • Communicate orientations, objectives and action plans and ensure the application of best practices in contribution management
REQUIRED PROFILE:
  • You are an experienced leader, driven and highly organized, with a strong hands-on approach. Your experience profile includes the following
  • College or university degree in management, transport logistics, or any other related discipline
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in operations management, including staff supervision in a unionized environment preferably in maritime, manufacturing, mining, logistics or construction industry
  • Experience in the maritime industry is an asset
  • Practical experience in the application of preventive measures in occupational health and safety, continuous improvement processes, supervision, and project management
