Job Description

OS&D AdministratorMidland Transport Limited has become a leader in the transportation industry by providing superior quality service to our customers. Our services include LTL, T/L, Courier Services, and Third Party Logistics/ Brokerage which provide the convenience of one-stop shipping.Midland Transport is currently seeking an “OS&D Administrator” reporting to the Office Manager at the Saint John Terminal. The selected candidate will be a self-starter with a strong work ethic and a “Can Do” attitude.The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Minimum 2-3 years of Transportation and/or Clerical experience preferred.
  • OS&D and freight movement experience preferred
  • AS400 experience an asset but not required
  • Able to work within a fast-paced work environment, and multi-task to ensure that the customers, terminal contacts, and US partners needs are met in a timely fashion
  • Self-starter with the motivation and the ability to investigate and resolve as well as proactively correct recognizing the root cause of each OS&D
  • Willingness to learn
  • Communication, Organizational, and Time Management Skills
  • Familiarity with all Microsoft Office Applications.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Investigate and work with the Customers to resolve any OS&D issues
  • Investigate and solve any issues with the freight that has been left to your attention from the previous afternoon/midnights shifts work
  • Complete a dock check for exception freight daily to rectify any exception freight on the dock throughout the day
  • Update the AS400 with the OS&D shipment status
  • Answer and assist other Terminals, the Claims department, and the Head office with OS&D issues
  • Complete and fax several reports concerning OS&D
  • Work with and take part in customer service functions to ensure Terminal Inbound and Outbound service levels are attained
