Pre-Employment Advisor – Newcomer Connecting Plus ProgramAbout Us: The Saint John Multicultural and Newcomers Resource Centre Inc. (SJMNRC) is a non-profit organization that provides an integrated approach to services for newcomers. Reporting to the Pre-employment Lead of the Saint John Multicultural and Newcomers Resource Centre (SJMNRC), the Pre-employment Advisor – Newcomer Connecting Plus will provide newcomers with the tools and opportunities to networking as an essential step in the job-seeking and integration process.Duties and Responsibilities: · Plan, promote, and create an engaging mentorship program· Create a network of partners and stakeholders to support the program· Manage the relationships between the centre and various partners· Work with communication specialist and staff to promote the programs· Develop, plan and manage skills development training sessions· Manage periodic reports and presentations· Maintain and coordinate relationship with clients· Liaise with clients to identify and define requirements, scope, and objectives· Manage internal cross functional teams for events· Work closely with the clients understand their requirements, develop the program and assist in achieving their goals· Report on a monthly basis through KPI reports to team lead on each assigned activity· Plan and coordinate evaluation tools and research activities as needed· Other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTSCompetencies Required:· Commitment to Organization Vision and Values: Demonstrates and promotes a personal understanding of and appreciation for the mission, vision, strategic outcomes and values;· Communication: Communicates in a clear, professional, and timely manner and supports information sharing and goal achievement;· Integrity: Demonstrates responsible behaviour at all times and maintains high ethical standards;· Planning and Organizing: Establishes a clearly defined and effective course of action for self and others to accomplish short and long-term work goals;· Relationship Building and Collaboration: Builds positive interaction both internally and externally to achieve work related goals.Skills and Qualifications:· Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience (project coordination/management);· Degree in Social Sciences, Business / Administration, and /or recognized Communications/Public Relations related studies;· Demonstrate knowledge and experience with event planning and project management principles· Experience and understand newcomers’ employment challenges· Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English required; French an asset;· Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism and attention to detail is necessary;· Can demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness, and problem-solving skills;· Can work independently and as part of a team;· Flexible, outgoing and prepared to take on new tasks;· Experience with Microsoft Office and online servicesThe Pre-Employment Advisor must be:· willing to work offsite, as required;· flexible with regard to working hours when required;· willing and available to work occasional evenings and weekends;Job Type: Full-timeSalary: $41,600.00-$43,680.00 per yearBenefits:
