Job Description

The OpportunityAs a Prep Cook, you will aid in the daily operations of the kitchen to ensure the health and safety of participants and staff.Responsibilities
  • Working with the Head Cook, the Prep Cooks are responsible for preparing and serving healthy and balanced meals.
  • Conduct housekeeping tasks necessary to maintain the kitchen in an organized, clean, safe and hygienic condition at all times.
  • Regular inventory of kitchen equipment and supplies
  • All kitchen staff members must be aware of childrens food allergies and special dietary requirements.
  • Responsible for the packing and delivering of meals to North End Hub.
  • Responsible for distribution and cleanup of meals.
Skills and Qualifications
  • High School Diploma.
  • Experience as a cook, preferably in a child care setting.
  • NB Public Health Certification - Food Safety License.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating a positive and productive manner within the team.
  • First Aid/CPR is an asset and will be provided within the first month of employment.
  • Successful candidates are required for their own transportation to and from all working locations. Having a reliable vehicle for transportation is a must.
Required
  • Candidates are required to provide full proof of vaccination against COVID-19 or a valid medical certificate exempting them from the vaccine.
  • Employment is contingent on having a clean Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search along with clearance from the Department of Social Development.
