Thats why were dedicated to investing in our employees’ potential, so that they can reach their career goals.Job DescriptionWhat you can expect in a typical day:With thousands of maintenance activities taking place each year at our Saint John Refinery, the Maintenance Scheduling Lead is responsible for overseeing and supporting the development of daily and long-range maintenance execution schedules across all operating units. Working closely with Area Teams, you will identify any potential risks to the schedule including resource availability and conflicts. Although this is primarily an office position, there are times when you will need to be in the field, so the ability to wear all PPE as required is critical. This opportunity is a 12-18 month term position.What we offer:

Your roles and responsibilities:
  • Coach and mentor a team of schedulers by working closely with them to implement SMART goals in line with overall goals and standards for the organization.
  • Demonstrate collaborative leadership and have an infectious enthusiasm for excellence.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive integrated master schedules including Front-end Loading, Detail Design, Procurement, Construction, and Start-up / Commissioning stages. Develop conceptual schedules to evaluate various alternates or anticipated schedule challenges.
  • Maintain schedule during executions and incorporate modifications where changes in the original scope or barriers are encountered.
  • Perform staffing density checks and staffing limitation checks to validate schedule durations; ensure resource leveling supports the overall maintenance strategy. Communicate any additional resource requirements and work order priority conflicts.
  • Perform critical path analysis to determine problem areas with regards to the maintenance schedule with special attention to resource overloads. Offer alternative courses of action to the team.
  • Analyze work schedules to optimize equipment availability and resource utilization. Work with Area Teams to prioritize work and develop accurate execution schedules.
  • Provide direction and alignment with the goal of ensuring timelines are accurate, realistic, and achievable taking into consideration age, priority, and backlog.
  • Lead regular scheduling meetings with team and various stakeholders including critical path reviews. Risk analysis for forecasting schedule challenges; offer solutions for issues.
  • Utilize planning cost estimates to resource load schedules; gain alignment with estimated scopes of work and the maintenance schedule.
  • Develop reports for key maintenance scheduling metrics. Issue daily forecasts against baseline.
Professional skills:
  • A comprehensive understanding of sequencing and prioritization of tasks associated with performing maintenance activities on refinery equipment.
  • Proficient with MS Office.
  • Strong, collaborative team leadership.
  • Able to see inter-related maintenance tasks and maximize resource time and utilization.
  • Understanding of what reporting metrics are required to keep schedules on task, meeting all critical paths.
  • Strong planning and analytical skills.
  • Ability to lead and facilitate meetings, direct team towards common goals.
  • Strong attention to attention with the ability to see the overall plan for maintenance activities.
  • Good facilitation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Able to adjust communication style to suit various stakeholders.
  • Able to understand concurrently needs of various stakeholders, identify risk, and find resolutions.
Education and experience
  • Experience in refinery equipment operation, maintenance scheduling, planning, and execution is considered a strong asset.
  • Demonstration of progressive leadership development and responsibilities suited for a management role.
  • Experience planning and scheduling maintenance activities.
  • Proficiency with Oracle eAM, Viziya Work Align Scheduler, Primavera P6 considered an asset.
