About UsWere a Paint Your Own Pottery Studio, and we pride ourselves in serving quality coffee, tea, and assorted baked goods.As a Manager at DIY Studio, you’ll warmly greet customers and assist them with questions they have regarding how it all works. Alongside your staff, you will ensure that the studio maintains a level of cleanliness and that customers always feel valued.You must be able to greet customers easily and have an upbeat, positive attitude as we pride ourselves in the service we offer. Customer service is a big deal to us, so if thats not a strong suit of yours, were not the fit for you. Here are some requirements/preferences:o Available Full Time throughout the week, any time during open hourso Exceptional customer service skillso Have at least three years working experience in retail environment preferably with some supervisor/keyholder, or management experience.ResponsibilitiesOversee personnel and operations.· Manage staff: ensuring appropriate job performance.· Train and supervise new hires, interview potential workers, and extend job offers.· Ensure that all sales are reconciled daily, with transactions closed and deposits arranged.· Manage inventory.· Be customer-focused; ensure customer satisfaction whenever possible.General Tasks· Ensure customers are well taken care of by yourself and staff.· Use your judgment to make special exceptions (store credit, return, etc.) to keep customers happy in sticky situations.· Retrieve pieces for customer pick-ups.· Greet customers immediately upon entry.· Explain to new customers how the process works.· Have a presence on the floor to be available to answer customer questions.· Make sure staff are always interacting with customers in a friendly and appropriate manner.· Be pro-active and anticipate customers’ needs by reading body language.· Deal with rising customer issues by doing your best to keep them happy (even when theyre being less than friendly).Studio cleanliness and efficiency· Upkeep the cleanliness of the studio· Ensure stock shelves are kept tidy, i.e., not cluttered or out of place· Ensure store stays clean· Ensure tables and bucket are being cleaned in a timely manner· Set up reservations· Keep Café area clean and tidyManagementSupervise staff· Train staff on meeting and exceeding expectations· Set up designated job reviews to ensure that the proper skills and procedures have been taught and are being followed· Assign, train and promote positions (shift supervisor, kiln manager, etc.)· Address any issues with staff (attitude, tardiness, etc.), which may require attention· Oversee staff is productive at all times· Hold decision-making authority including termination (to be discussed with owners)Administration· Prepare and send out a digital schedule· Must be submitted to owners for approval 24 hours before publishing· Working with us, determine appropriate scheduling trends (ie. Not over-staffing in summer or under-staffing in fall/winter)· Learn to manage socials (Facebook & Instagram)· Respond to social media messages and comments frequently (AM and PM)We will still monitor socials and will occasionally send you graphic, giveaway and promotional material.· Respond to emails within 24 hours· Party requests· Contact Forms· Take-home kit ordersWe will also still monitor emails and there will occasionally be emails that only we will be able to respond to.· Report to owners and assist in developing strategies for the future of the business (monthly or quarterly – TBD during training).· Keep track of and shop for all café items (found on “everything we can run out of” list).· Keep track of and reorder/shop for all studio supplies (found on “everything we can run out of” list).· Keep track of and submit all receipts to the owner at each weeks end.· Print forms when necessary (pertaining to COVID, parties, Take-Home kits, etc.)Kiln· Be prepared and available to load kiln when needed· Assign “kiln manager” position when necessary and appropriate· Train on unloading, loading, and managing pick-up dates with kiln· Maintain kiln schedule· Keep “kiln room” clean and organizedPsst. The kiln is the giant oven we fire all the pieces in, and you dont need any experience with it.. well teach you : )Sales & Financials· Ensure till and float is maintained.· Train staff on opening and closing till· Ensure cash deposits are made in a timely mannerInventory· Maintain stock levels· Maintain inventory up-to-date· Be involved in the selection of new and seasonal pieces· Continue local parternships· Receive orders and allocate stock· Merchandize shelves relevant to the seasonSalary Package & Expectations· $35,000 - 38,000 annually· Vacation - Two weeks paid (certain times arent available, e.i., March Break)· Tips· Bonus and Incentive opportunities· Consider yourself always “on call , e.i., if youre short-staffed and studio needs you· You are the back up if someone calls in sick, no-shows, etc.If this sounds exciting to you and you’re looking for a long-term position with an opportunity for growth and interest in learning about the kiln, please apply… we want to meet with you!Job Type: PermanentSalary: $35,000.00-$38,000.00 per yearBenefits:
