Tekla Detailing LeadJMT Consultants Inc. – Saint John, New BrunswickJob Type: Full-Time, PermanentJMT Consultants Inc. is a growing structural consulting firm that is currently seeking a motivated Tekla Detailing Lead to join our dedicated team. For individuals outside of the Saint John area, we offer an exciting relocation expenses package. We will also consider the opportunity to work remotely for the right candidate.The right candidate for this position is someone with extensive experience in both steel and Tekla Structures that will support our project managers and act as a coach to our Tekla production detailers. This person will be constantly in the model doing reviews making sure detailers are following procedures, customer standards, the design, and doing things the most efficiently in Tekla Structures. This person will be tasked with doing final reviews of submittal packages to ensure quality. They will also be responsible for creating project specific settings or components to improve the efficiency and accuracy on a project. This person will also be tasked with doing complex modeling and detailing tasks. This person may help author RFI’s, but aren’t responsible for communicating with the customer or managing schedules and production detailers directly.At JMT Consultants Inc. we value our team members and offer a full medical benefits package, vacation/sick time, flexible work hours and relaxed office environment. • Model and drawing review
• Tekla Structures project specific setups and custom components
• Model complex framing or connections
• Participate in project kickoffs and checklists with the Project Manager
• Become thoroughly familiar with the customer’s detailing and fabrication standards and ensure they are being met in the model and drawings
• Write RFI’s as required
• Work closely with the JMT Software Development team to test detailing productivity tools for Tekla Structures as well as develop requirements for new tools

Qualifications:

• 10+ years as a steel detailer with previous shop or field experience is a plus
• 5+ years of recent Tekla Structures experience with knowledge of creating custom components and report templates is a plus
• Extensive knowledge of structural and miscellaneous steel construction
• Extensive knowledge of the AISC code of standard practice, OSHA safety requirements, and miscellaneous and architectural steel building code standards
• Knowledge of the fundamentals behind connection design
• Experience with model and drawing checking including using software such as Bluebeam or Adobe professional to do digital drawing checking
• Self-motivated and ability to complete multiple tasks with minimal guidance
• Deadline driven with an attention to detail

Requirements:

• Diploma/certificate
• Canadian Citizenship/Legally able to work in Canada
