Job Description

Supervise, delegate, and oversee the transportation team.

  • Communication with clients to ensure questions are answered, needs are being met and outstanding invoices are being paid.
  • Provide visible leadership and model with the company’s vision and values. Ensure alignment with division goals and priorities.
  • Develop comprehensive operational plans and monitor daily operations to ensure exceptional delivery of service to clients.
  • Develop positive relationships with key clients and vendors to allow the company to lead the industry with the best service levels.
  • Work closely with and coordinate the Maintenance Department to ensure their overall needs are met to ensure the operational availability of equipment.
  • Ensure safety standards are adhered to and reinforced and that Safety is the number 1 priority in every task, load, and trip.
  • Weekly reporting to General Manager
  • You will be responsible for keeping the fleet on the go and productive.
Skills/Experience
  • Post-secondary education with an emphasis on Business or Management * Previous transportation/logistics operations and management experience (3+ years)
  • Exceptional ability to consider all the detail, while simultaneously focusing on the big picture
  • Excellent ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with a team, clients, and internal managers
  • Ability to manage, influence and plan in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks of competing importance
  • Excellent presentation skills - must be able to speak confidently with clients, employees, and management

Position Requirements:
  • Consistently demonstrated ability to deliver
  • Have a demonstrated proven ability to work effectively in a supporting role to a diverse group of people with competing needs
  • Must be well organized and highly capable of prioritizing tasks, and effectively communicating to work groups on the status of set tasks and work requests
  • Fluency in MS Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, TMW
