Job Description

St. Croix Courier, a division of Advocate Print & Publishing, is searching for an enthusiastic, energetic, and outgoing Journalist with the ability to report the latest news both in print and through online media channels. As a Journalist your reporting will be noticed while you work with an award-winning editorial team.Based in our St. Stephen office, the successful candidate will make a difference by contributing engaging content, while representing the company within the community, and collaborating with other editorial, sales and production teams.As a member of our team, you will be offered a competitive compensation package including an opportunity to participate in our generous benefit programs.Attributes and Responsibilities:

  • Must be inquisitive, have adept writing skills with the ability to absorb information quickly
  • Able to attend events and report on them, execute assignments from editor, and generate story ideas as needed
Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in journalism or equivalent reporting experience
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Canadian Press Style and its reporting practices
  • Must travel occasionally
  • Must possess own transportation and maintain a valid drivers license
Additional Assets:
  • Internship experience in the field and the newsroom
