Job Description

Andersons Butcher and Takeaway aims to be a one-stop shop with a goal of providing the community with high quality, traceable and sustainable goods sourced from Canadian, family-run, and ethical farms. The focus of Andersons offerings will be meat, poultry, pork, and lamb along with house-made sausages, ready take-home meals, pantry goods and custom spices.We are looking for an informative, friendly, and customer service driven individual to join our new team in welcoming our community home. That means, communicating the cut, how it should be cooked, where the animal comes from, and our sustainable practices. As a Cashier, you will be expected to:

  • Be friendly, helpful and efficient, ensuring that each customer has a positive and memorable experience
  • Manage cash handling duties and receive debit/credit card payments using a POS system, ensure pricing is accurate
  • Provide information and suggestions to the customer and find answers to any questions asked
  • Escalate additional questions or complaints to management
  • Maintain and stock product displays and shelves, while identifying inventory needs
  • Demonstrate health and safety consciousness at all times and reports concerns
  • Assist in maintaining a high level of store sanitation and cleanliness
  • Other duties as assigned and as may be amended from time to time to meet company objectives
Qualifications & Experience
  • Grade 12 preferred, will consider skills and competences of past experiences
  • 1+ years’ experience in customer service is preferred
  • Certificate of Conduct required
  • Willingness to be open to learning and growing
  • Maintains high standards for work areas and appearance
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Attends work and shows up for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
  • Must have a strong work ethic and positive team attitude, communicating and coordinating with colleagues as necessary

  • Wed-Sat - 10:00am to 7:00pm
  • Sun - 10:00am to 5:00pm
