Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO)(Permanent Position)DUTIESUnder the general supervision of the DBA Team Lead, the successful candidate will participate in the daily operational support of Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle databases, following established incident and change management processes to enable key university services (including registration, admissions, financial processes, and payroll). As part of the Enterprise Application Services (EAS) team, the database administrator will support a number of administrative databases, including those for Memorials Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) business systems. Duties include installing and configuring RDBMS software; providing security management; monitoring database performance; supporting daily operations; providing project support; performing patch maintenance and database and application upgrades; facilitating backup and recovery; maintaining technical documentation; troubleshooting issues; and performing other related duties as required.After hours work for some database production tasks as well as participation in an on-call rotation for application support will be required.QUALIFICATIONSExperience (1-3 years) working as a Database Administrator administering enterprise-level relational databases; graduation from a four-year college or university undergraduate degree with major course work in computer science, engineering, or business management; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Experience working with relational databases, web server technology, and query languages such as SQL and/or PL/SQL are required. The preferred candidate should have knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle RDBMS and their associated tools. Knowledge of Tomcat, Apache, as well as a working knowledge of the Linux and Windows operating systems would be definite assets.SALARY $62,550 - $84,928 per annum (Management and Professional)An upscale hiring step will apply to this position (Step 12)CLOSING DATE July 20, 2022COMPETITION NO.
