Job Description

Andersons Butcher and Takeaway aims to be a one-stop shop with a goal of providing the community with high quality, traceable and sustainable goods sourced from Canadian, family-run, and ethical farms. The focus of Andersons offerings will be meat, poultry, pork, and lamb along with house-made sausages, ready take-home meals, pantry goods and custom spices.We are looking for a proactive, friendly, and driven individual to join our new team in welcoming our community home. That means, they’ll maximize production by completing tasks that our butchers and FOH staff can’t do on top of their own tasks. This includes the washing and sanitization of dishes and equipment and assisting in the prep area as needed. As a Dishwasher/Preparer, you will be expected to:

  • Assist in receiving and sorting stock orders
  • Vacuum sealing various products for sale
  • Weighing of spices/marinates for packaging
  • Retains a clean kitchen, properly washes and sorts soiled dishes
  • Maintenance including sweeping, mopping, organization, and garbage removal
  • Assist in maintaining a high level of store sanitation and cleanliness
  • Demonstrates health and safety consciousness at all times and reports concerns
  • Other duties as assigned and as may be amended from time to time to meet company objectives
Qualifications & Experience
  • Grade 12 preferred, will consider skills and competences of past experiences
  • 1+ years’ experience in the food preparation or food service industry preferred, but not necessary
  • Certificate of Conduct required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform well under pressure
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Knowledge of restaurant health and safety protocols including sanitary guidelines
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Attends work and shows up for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
  • Must have a strong work ethic and positive team attitude
