The company is also affiliated with Browning Harvey Ltd. and Harvey’s Oil Ltd.THE ROLE – HEALTH AND SAFETY MANAGERThe A. Harvey Group of Companies currently has an opening for the position of a full-time, permanent Health & Safety Manager.Reporting into the Director of Human Resources, the Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the A. Harvey Group is in compliance with all health and safety standards. Objectives for this position include: developing and maintaining OH&S policies and programs in compliance with all legislation and standards, assisting in the prevention of accidents and incidents in the workplace, and managing all disability claims within the company.Specific responsibilities for this role include: acting as an advisor regarding safety related issues, facilitation of OH&S training programs and records, ensuring implementation of all safety programs and auditing to ensure compliance to OH&S standards, developing and delivering employee wellness programs, conducting safety meetings, noting safety deficiencies and offering advice for corrective measures.THE CANDIDATEThe ideal candidate would have several years of experience in the management and administration of Occupational Health and Safety, a Certificate or Diploma from a recognized Health and Safety Program, and a Certified Registered Safety Profession Designation.A working knowledge of the OH&S Act and Regulations, the Canada Labor Code Part II, the WHSCC Act and Regulations, as well as applicable CSA Standards and Codes of Practice would be required for this role. Exposure to an ISO environment would be considered an asset. Highly developed oral and written communication skills, time management skills and computer skills are required to work in this fast paced environment.
