Seafair is a strategic leadership and community investment company. As a local organization founded and operating in Newfoundland & Labrador, we employ individuals across the province in urban, rural and remote settings in the delivery of community, home and residential care; safety supply and services; consumer health services; and in community development and capacity building efforts. In addition to our operations in Newfoundland & Labrador, Seafair operates a growing skilled-care home care agency, Life Home Health, in Florida, and is engaged in work with several First Nations across Canada.Our services are inclusive of:

  • Physical retail and e-commerce for lifestyle and health products
  • Allied health services
  • Mixed-method training platform for health service providers
  • Personal Protective Equipment and health safety supplies procurement, fulfillment, and distribution services

Innovation at SeafairAs a team, we are keen to collaborate with partners and explore new ideas to improve health outcomes, health systems and community well-being in NL. Building on our deep expertise in the direct delivery of community-based care services, the Seafair team is actively working on the development of systems-based and platform-oriented health and healthcare innovations that deliver enhanced value, improved quality, and result in greater care.As an organization, innovation is as much a culture as it is a process, and we are investing in both to nurture great ideas. From imaginative proposals and workflow improvements to creative partnerships and data analytics, we are driving ideation, solution design, research, and commercialization through the Seafair Capital Innovation Platform.The Seafair Capital Innovation Platform, which is in its early stages of maturity, consists of three core pillars:
  • The Port - An online ideation space
  • Anchor Events - Joint gatherings for learning and idea refinement
  • The Dock - An incubator and hub for innovation initiatives and new ventures
The PositionReporting to the VP Innovation and Business Development, the Innovation Coordinator will support all aspects of Seafair’s innovation agenda.Specifically, they will oversee and operate the day-to-day functions of The Port, an online ideation space. This includes driving the internal activation of innovation dialogue; serving as a project manager for a range of process improvement and business development ideas; and helping drive a shared culture of innovation across Seafair and its group of companies.Specific duties of the Innovation Coordinator include but are not limited to the following:
  • Oversee all aspects of The Port which uses the VIIMA ideation platform. This includes board configuration, workflow processes, conversation curation, initiatives monitoring, and project management.
  • Lead the coordination of Anchor Event(s) working with a range of internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Support projects, ventures, and initiatives at The Dock.
  • Collaborate with staff and leaders across Seafair Capital’s operating companies to support innovation initiatives.
  • Support business development initiatives, market research and data analysis functions.
  • Support the writing and submission of funding applications and project proposals.
Requirements

  • A post-secondary degree/diploma from a recognized institution.
  • 3 - 5 years of experience working in roles requiring group facilitation, workshop design, event planning, business planning, and project management.
  • Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives and process efficiencies.
  • Experience supporting start-ups and new businesses.
  • Experience in designing growth strategies for campaigns, businesses, or events.
  • Basic understanding of healthcare and community health ecosystems.
  • Basic understanding of software systems, web development, and programming.
  • Proficient in the use of technology.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
Assets
  • Previous experience developing innovation strategies considered an asset.
  • Experience working with start-ups or as an entrepreneur is considered as asset.
  • Experience in B2C or B2B sales is considered in asset.Experience in proposal development is considered an asset.
