Job Description

Our work culture includes a dynamic mix of professionals, with a diversity of skills and expertise.Our Terra Nova team is looking for a Marine professional who will being their Operations experience to manage and provide marine logistics support expertise to Terra Nova and other Suncor projects!Minimum Requirements:

  • Hold a valid STCW marine certificate
  • Deep understanding of oil and gas activities especially production and drilling operations
  • Comprehensive understanding of ship operations including Vessel Control Systems, Maintenance Management Systems, Dynamic Position, Anchor Handling, Construction, Supply and Tandem Operations
  • Experience with Marine operations on the Grand Banks or areas with similar weather conditions in particular consideration of ice management operations and vessel sharing agreements
  • WHMIS and TDG Certifications are preferred
Responsibilities:
  • Input on establishing and stewarding contractor performance targets (KPI’s), in alignment with the East Coast organization objectives on Supply Vessels and Marine Warranty Services
  • Assist and provide input to budget preparation including stewardship and reporting
  • Focus on optimization of the integrated schedule and planning of Marine assets, offshore handling and fuel management
  • Ice management and act as the onshore interface
  • Interface with Supply Chain material controllers, Operations, Drilling, Projects, Contractors and relevant East Coast stakeholders to ensure efficient management of activities in support of Terra Nova project and other Suncor Projects
  • Support to offshore activities within offshore safety zones, including the development of bridging documents
  • Provide support to the marine activities involving regulators, marine surveyors, Suncor and the offshore organization
  • Participate in PHA’s and risk assessments of marine operations (e.g. rig moves)
  • Provide input to vessel specification development and evaluation during chartering process
Location and other Key Details:
  • You will work out of St. John’s office with visits to our offshore assets
  • This is a 40 Hour work week
  • Qualified residents of Newfoundland and Labrador will be given preference
