Job Description

Our Client Newfoundland Broadcasting Company Ltd. is looking for a Chryon/Graphics Operator (part time and relief position) to join their team. Newfoundland Broadcasting Company Ltd. is a privately held company encompassing CJON-TV (NTV, Newfoundland Television - Canadas Superstation) and CHOZ-FM (OZFM - The Rock Of The Rock). CJON-TV is Newfoundlands only privately held and cross-province television station and currently has the most watch newscast (NTV Evening Newshour) in Newfoundland. CHOZ-FM is currently Newfoundlands only cross-province radio station and the number one most listened station across the province.What you will be doing:

  • Preparing all character generated supers for First Edition and the NTV Evening Newshour
  • Creating graphics for First Edition and The NTV Evening Newshour
  • Editing the weekly news production “Week in Review”
  • Preparing supers/graphics for other productions
  • Assisting with any other production related duties
  • Recording and captioning checkpoints
What you will bring:
  • Completion of High School
  • Post-secondary course from a recognized Broadcast School, University or TechnicalInstitute considered an asset
  • Possess a professional working knowledge of basic television production and operations.
  • High adaptability and flexibility skills
  • Works well under pressure
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Self-motivated and able to work in a team environment
  • Must have good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize items.
  • Excellent spelling, grammar and proof-reading skills
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of various broadcast software, graphicssoftware amp technology
  • Knowledge of a Chyron Graphics system would be an asset
  • Valid Driver’s License
