Job Description

OVERVIEW: The Newfoundland Growlers are located in St. Johns, NL and are an ECHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs and are currently seeking mascot performers.The mascot performers will play a critical role by representing the Growlers as the mascot. The team mascot is an essential and highly visible symbol of the team brand. Ideal candidates will have a focus on naturally applying core values of imagination, enthusiasm, and self-confidence.JOB TYPE:

  • Status: Seasonal / Hourly
  • Hours: Ability to work all Newfoundland Growlers home games with additional engagement at community and special events.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform as the Growlers mascot, at home games and a wide range of events throughout the community.
  • Possess a high level of enthusiasm and energy that encourages fan interaction.
  • Work with staff to create, develop, and execute skits and other in-game mascot entertainment.
  • Preserve the identity of the mascot through established character body movements and mannerisms.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of mascot equipment and props.
  • Exceptional customer service with every guest, partner, and client interaction.
*Outline of Responsibilities could fluctuate and change at any course of time*QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Comfortable performing in front of large crowds with an ability to generate crowd enthusiasm.
  • Ability to handle the demands of working in full-body costume.
  • Must meet constraints of costume.
  • Gymnastic, dance, and/or acting experience is preferred.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, stretching, bending, kneeling, and pulling.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
