EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

(Location: St. John’s & Greater Metro Area)Position Title: Project Assistant –Waterford Watershed Conservation ProjectPOSITION DESCRIPTION: As part of the Conservation Corps of NL’s Waterford Watershed Research, Restoration, and Education Program, the successful candidate for this position will assist the Watershed Conservation Coordinator in conducting research and writing literature reviews; restoration work on the Waterford River; field assessments on the health of the Waterford Watershed; create maps using Geographic Information Systems (GIS); disseminating education and outreach materials on watersheds and their benefits; and other project related duties as required. *Successful applicants will be required to participate in Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) training and follow all OH&S regulations as well as all other policies of CCNL.DETAILS❖ Position is for 14 weeks from May 30 - September 2, 2022❖ Rate of pay: $16.00/hr for 35 hours per week*Possible extension pending funding*QUALIFICATIONSApplicants must legally be allowed to work in Possess passion for the outdoors, be willing to workCanada outside, and be able to perform strenuous physical
  • Enrolled in or have completed a degree/diploma in an activity for a full 7-hour workday required for river environmental field, including Environmental restoration work.
Management, Environmental Technician, Biology, Knowledge of creating maps using GIS software.Geography, Limnology, or other related disciplines. Experience/knowledge of writing literature reviews will be an asset.ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONSWork from home may be required.
