PROJECT MANAGERResearch Initiatives & ServicesAtlantic Cancer Consortium (ACC)Terry Fox Research Institute (TFRI) Marathon of Hope Cancer Centres(1-year Contractual Position)This Position is Funded Through An External GrantMoHACC BACKGROUNDThe Marathon of Hope Cancer Centres Network (MOHCCN) is a pan-Canadian initiative led by the Terry Fox Foundation (TFF) and the Terry Fox Research Institute (TFRI) with the support of partner institutions across the country. Focusing on precision medicine, it will harness the power and productivity of our talented pan-Canadian cancer research community to improve cancer diagnoses, predict how different people will respond to treatments, and deliver more personalized and effective treatments with fewer side-effects. The National Network will involve five regional consortia of hospitals, cancer centres, universities, and research institutes across Canada. The Atlantic Cancer Consortium (ACC) has brought together cancer resources from across Atlantic Canada and currently has 4 centres: St. Johns, NL; Saint John; NB, Moncton; NB; and Halifax, NS. The pilot phase has started in January 2021 and is now applying to become a designated centre by January 2023.DUTIESThe successful applicant will be reporting to the ACC Program Leads to coordinate all aspects of the project and will liaise with other team members to coordinate meetings, monitor budgets, create and maintain records, generate, disseminate progress and finance reports for the ACC, funders, and other stakeholders. The position also facilitates internal and external program related communication and works with the various committees to ensure required processes are developed, implemented, and adhered to. This includes obtaining agreements between and within institutions for ethics, material and data transfers, and collaborations in addition to any others that may arise. Other duties include coordinating hirings, managing social media channels, and updating and maintaining the ACC website.QUALIFICATIONSExperience (5-7 years) in project management; fiscal management, working in a team environment; an undergraduate degree in science; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Strong interpersonal and communication skills including verbal and written communication and the ability to work remotely. The successful candidate will be goal oriented, an effective communicator, and independent. A graduate degree or previous experience in health or life sciences is an asset.
