Full-Time Cook-Term PositionJob Description: CookSection: DietaryHours of Work: 8:00-6:00 - Full TimeOpen until filledLocation: 14 St. Hilaire, St Malo R0A 1T0We are looking for a passionate full-time cook to come and work at our senior housing facility.We would like someone who is willing to learn and has a heart for seniors.Wages: $ 16.54 Hourly plus an additional $0.85 Hourly weekend premium.Reporting to the Manager, the cook works within a team environment alongside the Cook’s Helper and Kitchen helper.Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Breakfast, Lunch, and Supper meals for approximately 40-60 residents.
  • Dish up meals for serving.
  • Puts away food orders, labeling all packages by date received to ensure proper rotation of food.
  • Stores all food according to the standard Food Safety guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean work area according to Food Handler’s Guidelines.
  • Take temperatures of fridges and freezers.
  • Check and create the menu.
  • Sanitizes cleans and maintains stove, oven, steam table, countertops, deep fryer, utensil drawers, kitchen shelves, and all the kitchen area.
  • Keeps the kitchen in a clean and organized state.
  • Strives to keep a good team environment.
  • Monitors other kitchen staff and assists in promoting a healthy work ethic.
  • Checks inventory and places weekly food orders.
  • Assists in other duties when time permits, and helps other team members when needed.
Must have successful completion of the Food Handlers’ course, or willingness to obtain one, a Criminal Record Check, and Vulnerable Sector check.Please put the position you are applying for in the email heading ( Full Time Cook)Job Type: Full-timeSalary: $16.54 per hourSchedule:

Ability to commute/relocate:
  • St. Malo, MB R0A 1T0: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
  • Cooking: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
  • Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (preferred)
