Job Description

Housing Support WorkerChalet Malouin – St. MaloTerm: 9 Months-Full Time-Monday-FridayStart: ASAPOpen Until FilledPosition Summary: Under the supervision of the Managing Director, the Housing Support Worker will work to connect to seniors in the community and help them with housing needs. They will plan, organize, and develop programs and activities at the Chalet Malouin with the input of seniors from the community. The Housing Support Worker will assist in carrying out housing and support plans, and reach out to tenants in the Chalet Malouin and surrounding community. This would include building connections, linking to, and maintaining formal and informal support networks. The Housing Support Worker will be carrying out their regular duties under the supervision and direction of the ManagingDirector.Education/Certification:

  • Completion of a (Certificate, Diploma, or Degree) is considered an asset
  • Previous Work or Volunteer experience in, Housing Support, Human Services, or other relative experience is considered an asset
  • Previous experience in a senior group setting would be an asset
Knowledge, Skills and Ability: o Knowledge of Manitoba Residential Tenancy Act and Guidelines is an asset o Knowledge of mental illnesses/mental health issues and recovery beneficial o Ability to work effectively in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Sage 50, Word, Excel) o Excellent time management, organizational, and decision-making skills o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills o Ability to work independently as well as part of a team o Experience in facilitating group learning and daily activities o Excellent Conflict Resolution skills o An understanding of the St. Malo community, available resources, and the ability to develop appropriate connectionsOther Requirements and Conditions of Employment:
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check (with the Vulnerable Sector Check)
  • Satisfactory Adult Abuse Registry Check
  • Valid Driver’s License Current Vehicle Registration,
  • Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination Status or agreement to undergo regular testing in accordance with Public Health orders (As required)
Job Type: Fixed term contractContract length: 9 monthsSalary: $16.00 per hourFlexible language requirement:
