Job Description

Together, we are stronger and achieve more.Viterra is seeking a diligent Rail Load-Out Assistant to work in our Ste. Agathe canola crush facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for loading railcars and trucks, taking samples of raw product to ensure quality, as well as general labour in and around the facility.Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform railcar movement and loading product into rail cars.
  • Maintain logs for food safety audit purposes and generate various shift and loading reports.
  • Safely operate shuttle wagon, loader, skid steer, bobcat and other equipment as required.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping, grounds keeping, and rail track maintenance.
  • Monitor conveyers, bins and legs, and adjust levels and motors on the loading/unloading control system.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Hands-on learner with mechanical aptitude.
  • Team player with excellent communication and personable skills.
  • Adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical ability to work long shifts and perform the required duties of the role.
  • Basic understanding of the Canadian grain Industry is considered an asset.
Education and Qualifications:
  • Minimum one to two (1-2) years of experience working in a railyard or similar environment.
